Hotel Philia

What impressed me most was the service. The staff went out of their way to help with our stay and with other issues that had nothing to do with the hotel. Our room was large and very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the linens were good quality, which matters when you’re tired and need comfort. Breakfast was great too, and the room rate was very reasonable. Highly recommended. Service, service, service!

The room was very good and clean, as you can see in the photographs below. We stayed for one day. Dinner was nice: vegetable soup, chicken with oven-cooked potatoes, then watermelon for dessert. Breakfast the next morning was average, with bread, cheese, salami, eggs, some fruit, cereals and the like. There were no croissants, cakes, cookies, or honey. The hotel is a bit outside the city, but a taxi costs around 4-5 euros and takes just 5-10 minutes.

The welcome at Philia was lovely, and I’d come back if I’m ever in Podgorica again. It’s a gorgeous, charming hotel and such good value, with spacious rooms, clean facilities, a mini fridge, bathrobes, and slippers. Breakfast was included and served at the table in the proper restaurant. This morning I had a fresh rolled crepe filled with meat and roasted veggies, topped with creamy tomato sauce. I was also pleased with the very lenient noon checkout. Thank you, Philia, for such a great welcome to the city!

After arriving in Podgorica late, we found the place without trouble and parking was easy. The suite was a good price, with a roomy, very comfortable setup for four. If I remember right, ask for rooms 21 and 22.
