Villa Geba Boutique Hotel

We started with antipasti, then had sea bass baked in a salt crust, followed by desserts. Everything was delicious, and the fish was beautifully cooked. A local Montenegrin Chardonnay recommended to us was crisp, elegant and well balanced. The service was warm, attentive and professional throughout. The restaurant overlooks Sveti Stefan Island and the bay, a beautiful backdrop for a calm, refined evening. This was one of our best dining experiences in Montenegro, with outstanding food, views and service. It’s popular, so book ahead.

The nice ambience was the only reason I gave this one star. I expected much better from a luxury boutique hotel of this category, but the experience was a real disappointment. We had reserved a table for two, yet on arrival they said they couldn’t find the booking and would have to see if anything was free. They did find us a table eventually. Our waiter brought the wrong drinks, didn’t know the menu well and spoke to guests in a careless, overly casual way. His English was far from fluent, and staff chatted about private matters where guests could hear. My fish and mashed potatoes arrived with a hair in the mash. The waiter took it away and said he’d replace the dish, brushing it off with “these things happen.” They offered dry tea biscuits as an apology, but they were terrible and we left them uneaten. After lunch, we asked to see the spa so we could book for later. We were told guests were inside, although it looked empty. At the pool, we were also told we couldn’t take a photo just of the pool for ourselves because only the hotel’s marketing team could advertise it. That was confusing after I’d seen Instagram photos of OnlyFans models there promoting other brands. We only wanted a simple picture.

We first came across Villa Geba when my companion needed a restroom during our visit to Sveti Stefan. Two very cheerful people welcomed us and pointed him toward exceptionally pristine facilities. The property was so lovely that we stayed for lunch, with an exquisite table overlooking Sveti Stefan and the water. The meal and the service from the concierge, bar staff and waiter were all excellent. We loved it enough to ask about a future stay, then booked the Junior Suite for two nights, October 21-22, 2022. The rooms were beautiful, fresh and lavishly furnished, as the property had opened recently in 2019. There are seven rooms, with larger themed suites as well as smaller spaces. The spa had a Turkish Bath, sauna, endless pool, jacuzzi and spa services. Our stay lived up to the wonderful lunch. The whole team was friendly, well trained and eager to make the visit as good as possible. Vladimir deserves a special mention for helping us decide to book. Restaurant Muse was so good we had dinner there both nights, enjoying the sea bass, pork with truffles and delicious homemade bread. My companion was delighted to find his favorite single malt scotch. Every terrace table had a beautiful view, and on Saturday night we enjoyed live music from a local combo in the bar. As a travel agent, I love finding little gems like this. Everyone was gracious and helpful, and I can’t recommend the place highly enough.

We were hoping for personalized, luxurious service, and that’s exactly what we found. The staff did everything they could to make our few days comfortable, and the rooms, food and views all impressed us. It felt like a magical stay and a real treasure among Montenegro’s boutique hotels. We’re so glad we discovered it, warmly recommend it, and plan to return. Thank you for the hospitality.
