Tivat Star

The mattress was really hard and a bit uncomfortable, so that’s why I’m giving it four stars. Still, I’d come back, since I don’t think you’ll find a better option in the area for this price. The place is good value, simple but nice, right by the port front with its restaurants, bars, and shops. Staff were nice and accommodating. My room was big and clean, with a partial bay view and an antique touch I liked.

Good value and a pleasant stay. The location is close to the center of Tivat but quiet enough when you’re trying to sleep. I was in the six-bed dorm, which never filled up, even during peak season. It stayed clean and mostly tidy, with a nice view of the water and mountains. The hosts were very nice and spoke enough English for whatever I needed.

We stayed four days in a first-floor room, one of the two with a large balcony mostly overlooking the nearby marina. It was early May over a bank holiday, so we were lucky to find a free parking space. The room was clean, with good Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and even heated beds. The Wi-Fi name and password were on the table, and the bathroom always had hot water. No complaints about cleanliness. There’s a small kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave, and basic cutlery, but no tap or sink. We didn’t use it. The building also has a garden with two seats and a table. Dimitriy was discreet, quiet, and good-natured. When we arrived, we were shown another room on the same floor, but we didn’t like it. The gate opens with a key, which isn’t very practical if one person stays in the room. The walls seem thin, since we could hear guests next door when they were noisy.

We didn’t end up staying. The man was so rude when we arrived. The room looked clean enough and had an en-suite, but it was very dark, cramped, and depressing, and there were no other rooms available. We found a much nicer, cheaper room nearby with a lovely, smiling, very welcoming lady. Do not stay at Tivat Star!
