Andasibe Cyperus Hotel

The staff were really nice and friendly, and breakfast was a buffet with everything. The pool was fantastic. It’s about a 10-minute walk from Andasibe, and the rooms and bathrooms are huge, new, and modern. Super good hotel :)

We had one of the two-bed bungalows. It was clean and pretty spacious, but had just one toilet and shower. In low season, it seems they save resources at the guest’s expense. The heaters were off, and after we asked to have them switched on, we were told the water would be hot in 30 minutes. It never was, so we ended up bathing in warm-cold water. A previous guest mentioned the hot-water issue not long ago, and it seems to keep happening, so plan for that. I support sustainable practices, but the price should reflect what guests are charged. We didn’t try to negotiate.

Set in nature, this is a great hotel with a very good restaurant. It also has a swimming pool and pool. The location works well for getting to the parks and reserves.

The only real drawback for me was that Wi-Fi worked in the lobby, not in the rooms. I had a good cell signal, so it wasn’t a big deal, though I can see it bothering other guests. I was here for one night as part of a tour package, so I can’t comment on the price. My stay was pretty much perfect: the staff were ridiculously friendly, and the snack, dinner, and breakfast I had were all excellent and good value. The room was huge and had everything I expected, including a comfortable bed, good hot water, free water bottles, and a comfortable temperature even in winter. The shared spaces were great too. I visited in winter and didn’t use the pool, but it looked nice, as did the lobby, restaurant, bar, and grounds. The location is right in the middle of all the parks.
