The rooms have been renovated and were clean and well equipped, and the price was good enough that I'd stay again. The entrance looked a bit sketchy, though. They don't take cards, but the receptionist was very helpful and lent me money for a taxi to get to an ATM at night.

The owners went well out of their way to help me and another guy with some problems we had. They're really nice people, and I felt very safe. This was my little haven in Tana, and I'd happily stay again. My room was apartment-sized; even the smaller rooms are new and have full kitchens, with a fridge, cooker, microwave, and all the cooking gear. That's rare in Madagascar. There's good Wi-Fi, a garden, a steel security gate, guards on duty full time, and parking. Maids clean the rooms daily. A restaurant, massage place, Super U supermarket, and bank are all nearby.

Everyone was friendly, and I had no problems during my stay at Aparthotel Madeleine. The owner really made the experience worthwhile. We even made friends, and we'll be back very soon.

I found the place through Airbnb, and the host is a Superhost. It's clean, affordable, easy to get to, and has free internet. The house and neighborhood felt secure. The rooms aren't soundproof, but that wasn't a big deal for us.

A very dirty place. It felt more suited to refugees than tourists.
