The hostel supports a solidarity project that helps very poor people in the surrounding area, and local young people get training in hospitality, including cooking, serving, and reception work. It was very cold while we were there, so bring warm clothes because there's no heating. The shower handle isn't easy to figure out, and you have to run the water a long time before it gets hot. Still, it's a lovely place to stay in Tana, with nice rooms, a comfy bed, and great city views.

Staying here and seeing what Padre Pedro has done for the community was the highlight of our time in Madagascar. The hotel is comfortable and wonderful, and being right in the center of Padre Pedro’s village made the stay special. We missed Sunday mass, but it sounds like a must if you can make it. Everyone visiting Tana should stay here.

The food was delicious, the rooms and decor were genuinely lovely, and the staff were kind and friendly. It feels good to know your stay helps the local community, and the service was excellent. We'd happily come back.

A wonderful experience. It's an excellent place to rest and to attend the Catholic service at the local church.
