The approach feels really African, and walking the bumpy dirt track is the best way to take it all in. It's nearly a kilometer before the view opens up, then you can take a motorized canoe across to Nosy Sakatia. The locals you meet along the way are welcoming and friendly. The children haven't learned to ask for money yet.
