La Fourmi Hôtel

Travel Agency ČEDOK CZ - Welcome Madagaskar! Cestovní kancelář Čedok - Vítej Madagaskar! Hotel La Fourmi's facilities and the building's condition don't meet the standard of a three-star hotel. Under Czech hygiene standards, it would not be approved to operate. The hotel is on a beach in an area without sewage, densely populated by poor local residents. The beach was covered in garbage and feces. Our Czech guide hadn't warned us not to go onto the beach or into the water. Pipes in the hotel building were cracked, and in some rooms the toilets wouldn't flush or the showers had no running water. There was mold everywhere. In some rooms, the air conditioning, television or refrigerator didn't work, though that was less important. Five of the 14 people on the tour had serious health problems that kept them from taking part in some planned trips. The unhygienic conditions and poor accommodation at Hotel La Fourmi put us at serious health risk and badly spoiled our holiday. Because of this, we won't use Čedok again and will discourage friends and acquaintances from travelling with them. Date of stay: December 2022

A great hotel, and the food was superb!

The place has lovely natural decor, and the staff are friendly. We went for lunch two days in a row, but service was very slow and the meal felt expensive for its quality. I waited several minutes at reception. Instead of answering my questions, the receptionist was chatting on the phone with a colleague, and I could clearly hear them talking nonsense. They didn't seem to know what was important or urgent.

I spent a week here and it was a disaster. There were cockroaches all over the hotel and in the rooms, the food was inedible, and the staff were unpleasant and violent. After sleeping the night on their "pool terrace," we had to urgently change hotels at 6:00 AM. Nobody seemed to care about guests, there was no one in charge, and an employee even took my picture without my consent. This place should be shut down. Shame on them. They deserve zero stars.
