I’ve been back several times on this trip, and the coffee is the best in town. The service has been excellent every visit, and the restaurant was nicely decorated for the holidays. The staff know their wines and made some great suggestions. Glad to have found a new regular spot.

There’s a lovely lake view, and the tables are spaced well enough that it still feels comfortable when it’s busy. The food is delicious, prices are very affordable, and the atmosphere is a pleasure to sit in. The staff are patient, professional, and always smiling. They treat you with respect, chat with you, and offer helpful suggestions if you’re as indecisive as I am. One of my favorite places I’ve visited here. I’ll come back every time. Highly recommend.

One thing to know before driving to Hotel Aleksandrija: don’t follow Google Maps. It sends you up a steep, very narrow, winding route through crowds of pedestrians and over the hill behind town. Park first in the large lot in the town center, take a ticket at the gate and pay if needed, then walk to the hotel. They’ll let your car into their parking area. The hotel itself has a hard-to-beat location, a lovely lake view, a nice room, helpful staff, and free parking. The downside is the noise from the club next door, which plays music late into the night.

I went for the chicken with gnocchi, and the chicken was juicy and really tasty. There were plenty of good choices on the restaurant menu. You can smoke inside, which took me back many years. It’s a cozy place, and the staff were friendly and kind.
