Park Lakeside Ohrid

The location and views are nice, but poor management and disappointing food made the stay a letdown. The rooms were only okay and not completely clean. My towels showed visible signs of use. Breakfast was mediocre, and lunch and dinner were really poor. There were only two choices for guests, and the chicken steak had no flavor. It seemed to have been microwaved. The hotel gets the food from a restaurant 4-5 kilometers away and heats it in the hotel restaurant. The plates were so hot from the microwave that even the waiter struggled to serve them, while the food itself was cold, bland, and unpleasant. The service wasn't good either. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The location is fantastic, right on the lake, though it's a 45-minute walk to the center. The Wi-Fi is fine and dinner was adequate. The rooms feel dated and need some maintenance. The power outlets are out of place and dangerous.

The view and being close to Lake Ohrid were the only redeeming things. We were with a large group, and several people needed different rooms because their AC was broken, the rooms were dirty, or the bathrooms smelled of sewer. Our room wasn't very clean either. There was trash in the lobby corners and the carpet was stained. The front desk staff were no help, and the restaurant food was very poor. As my cousin put it, “I didn't know they could ruin a hamburger.” At 10:30pm, when we went to bed, we found sheets that were dirty, not just stained. The staff gave us a hard time because the cleaning lead had gone home at 10 and they said they couldn't do anything. After 30 minutes of back and forth, we got keys to another room so we could get our own clean sheets. One elevator had blood splatter on the ceiling. This was a terrible experience. The hotel may have been 4-star quality a long time ago, but it has fallen far below that.

The rooms were modern, spotless, and had an amazing view, and I really liked the clean beach and swimming in the lake. The location is okay, though about 4 km from downtown. The pool wasn’t working at some point, and I don’t know why. One time the maid came into our room without knocking or introducing herself, picked something up, and left. Dinner was a letdown both times: we waited an hour for a plate of food everyone else had already eaten, and it arrived cold and without salt. When I asked the waiter what was for dinner, he said he had no idea and walked away. Apart from that, the service was kind and friendly.
