Next Door Park

The hotel has a gym, pool, and several bars, and I stayed in the four-star side of the two connected hotels. My booked single room turned out to be huge, with two beds and a balcony, and it was clean and modern. Breakfast was among the best I've had, probably because guests from the five-star hotel eat there too. The breakfast room and hotel bars were stylish and full of charm. The bars can be noisy until they close, which I think is around midnight, but I didn't mind. I like having somewhere to relax in the hotel bar after a long day. If noise bothers you, check whether anything is happening at the stadium next door during your stay, since that could be loud too.

Room 413 had plenty of space, and I really liked the SMEG fridge and the TV stand that swivels between the living room and bedroom. The service was solid, and the location worked fine for me. It's not right downtown, but I knew that when I booked and I enjoy walking. The room could be great with a few updates: there are holes where tech was installed or maybe removed, the bathroom needs a little touch-up, and the den area could use a bigger rug. The walk-in shower is almost comically big, it could fit six people or more.

Breakfast was okay, but the arrival started badly because the receptionist was very rude. The room was far too hot, and we couldn't control the AC. After a long time trying to get it sorted, we were told that the law only allows it to provide heat from mid-October through March. If they'd explained that at the start, it would have saved us a lot of time and worry. We were left sitting in a 28°C room, practically dying of heatstroke.

The room was a duplex facing the river Vardar, with lovely views, and the location was great. I stayed two nights. The upstairs AC ventilation was extremely poor, though, and we were sweating a lot through the night. The bathroom door was transparent with only a small design that partly blocked the view, so when someone used the toilet, nobody else could walk past that area. Breakfast had a decent layout and range of food, and the staff were alright.
