Skopje Hostel

The location was perfect, just a minute from the Free Walking Tour meeting point, and the place felt quiet and cozy. They even arranged a FREE pickup from the bus station when I arrived late. Communication was quick, the bed was comfortable, and they had free city maps. The comfy sleepers made it feel like home. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. BEST PLACE TO STAY!!

If all you need is a bed, a clean shower, and coffee in the morning, this place is alright. It was quiet, cold, and a bit antisocial, though, so I wouldn’t recommend it to a solo traveler hoping to meet people. The location is nice, but finding the entrance was a little tricky. The welcome didn’t feel very welcoming. The guy at reception was more interested in a soccer game and seemed eager to get back to it. We had to ask about the Wi-Fi, checkout time, and what we could use in the kitchen because he didn’t explain any of it. Staff also couldn’t answer questions about the city or transportation. The young guy had headphones on and took a minute to notice we were talking to him. The hostel has potential, but the staff need to improve.

The host was warm and nice, and I had a really comfortable night. The bathroom was clean and the shower hot. I’d seen quite a few comments about bed bugs and was hesitant, but there were no other rooms in town that day, so I stayed here in January 2025. I checked the bed and wall carefully and didn’t see any. I recommend this hostel.

Bed bugs cut our stay short. We lay down for a 30-minute nap after checking in on our first day, then woke up to one crawling on my pillow. We also found several dead ones in the luggage containers. The place seemed infested, so we packed up and left right away. The owners didn’t seem very surprised, but said they’d call an exterminator for beds 3 and 4, and refunded us.
