Our stay at Villa Ellena was a huge disappointment. The room was tiny and musty, with nowhere to put our luggage. Its bathroom was in a sunken basement area and was very damp. The owner offered us a different room upstairs, but it hadn’t been prepared and cost more. After several calls to Booking.com, we were directed to a spot in a public parking lot about 150 meters from the villa, up a steep road and many steps. We turned that room down. The kind owner then wrote that no tourists had reported arriving, and blocked me from leaving a review. I urge people to be honest in their reviews, since others can end up choosing awful places based on positive ones. With no space in the public parking lot, we drove toward Ohrid and found a great place at the Lasocki guesthouse.
