The room was spacious and clean, and the price felt fair for the facilities and standard. I stayed six nights in a deluxe twin. The breakfast was average, though good enough for this part of the region, and the head chef was warm and welcoming when I spoke with him. One issue: the bathtub has no shower curtain, so water gets all over the floor. I’d recommend it as one of Dawei’s better hotels.

For the price, Golden Guest Hotel works well compared with Dawei’s more expensive options. The staff were helpful, especially the kind person who checked me in at 3am. My room was quite clean, though the bathroom floor looked as if it hadn’t been mopped in weeks. I enjoyed staying there and would come back.

There’s plenty of parking if you’ve hired a car, and the central shopping mall is quite close. The breakfast has lots of choices and was very nice. Rooms are decent, with spacious, spotless bathrooms, and the setting is lovely. Staff are friendly too. A real hospitality highlight in Dawei.

Breakfast is served from 7 to 9 am in the dining room on the 6th floor, where there’s a lovely view across Dawei. They serve Myanmar traditional food, including rice noodles with fish curry, Myanmar Moke Hin Hgare.

The dining room has a bird’s-eye view, and the food is fresh and delicious. The rooms feel modern. A nice spot to rest after a long journey.
