The staff were friendly enough, but they refused our USD 20 bill from 2006, saying it was too old. The room cost only $20 for a twin bed, though there are much better places in Mandalay for that price. This place looked nothing like the photos. It was old, poorly maintained, and filthy, with unpleasant smells around the elevator, minibar, bathroom, and toilet. The minibar items were sticky, there were ants in the beds, and the floor was sandy.

We paid £6 each per night for a triple room, and it showed. The breakfast was bland, the air conditioning couldn't be switched off, and the WiFi barely worked during our two-night stay. There were cockroaches and ants in the bathroom, and they shut off the water at 7am on the morning we were checking out. We'll find somewhere else when we pass through again in a few days.

Breakfast ends at 8:30, which is far too early. The first room smelled of fresh paint, and the place was filthy. Don't go there, it's nasty.

The room we were given was dirty and didn't match the one in the booking. Worms came up from the bathroom. If zero stars were an option, that's what I'd give it.
