Bagan King Hotel

Even while visiting Myanmar under the current situation, the staff made us feel at home. For a 3-star hotel, the hospitality and professionalism felt 5-star. Reception staff on both day and night shifts helped with trip planning, booking tuktuk, speaking the local language, and safety advice. Breakfast is included in the rate at the 6th-floor restaurant, and the variety changes daily, so you won't get bored. Guests get a free drink during happy hour each evening, and I'd recommend the rum sour. Have a chat with the supervisor, who also bartends, he's worked here 10+ years and is always ready to help. We're checking out today for Bagan and will miss them all.

I especially want to recognize the F&B team at Bagan King Hotel: Aung Ko Ko, Moe Myint, Thet Paing & Shwe Zin. They made dining a pleasure, with warm, welcoming attention and prompt, courteous service, always with a smile. They went above and beyond throughout my stay. A great place to stay, with excellent hospitality and truly professional restaurant staff.

I really liked the rooftop restaurant, with its great view and mix of world and local food. The lime juice, prawn spring rolls, noodles and soups were all delicious. Staff were very friendly, the rooms were clean, and the location near the Palace was lovely. In the evening you can promenade with locals and enjoy some fresh, cool air. Highly recommend.

We stayed here when March earthquake happened. The hotel wasn't badly affected, and the staff took good care of us, which made it feel like a reliable place to stay in Mandalay. The hotel is nice and clean, and the service respectful and attentive. The rooftop bar is worth a visit too, with proper food and cold drinks. A good place to chill after work or on the weekend.
