At 80,000-85,000 MMK a night, the price seemed reasonable, and the hotel appeared quite full. Parking was available, but only outside the compound. Because the elevator wasn't allowed for safety reasons, we had to climb to the 3rd and 4th floors, and the stairwell was dirty. The location is excellent for a morning walk, with the moat and Mandalay Palace within walking distance and lots of restaurants nearby. We were assigned a room on the 3rd/4th floor because of the earthquake in Mandalay. The rooms were spacious, but the bathroom wasn't clean. The kettle handle was broken, and mosquitoes disturbed us several times overnight. The hotel has real potential, but housekeeping needs serious improvement.

I went up to the rooftop pool at 6.30 am to take in the December morning view of Mandalay. With the moat, old place, Mandalay hill, trees, and mist catching the early sunrise, it felt like heaven on a cool morning. The pool is nice, though at only 4 ft deep and very cold for a morning dip. It's a good spot for local photos. The hotel itself feels a bit dated and could be cleaner, and it should provide nicer toiletries. Reception staff were okay, but the breakfast staff seemed overwhelmed and could improve their service a lot. At least smile. The food was below Mandalay hotel standards for this price range. Would I stay again? I'd love to see that morning view again, but this wouldn't be my first choice overall.

The staff were very helpful, and breakfast was free, delicious, and had plenty of choices. The building is new and attractive, with rooms that have plenty of space and a nice bathroom with a bathtub. Wi-Fi coverage was good and the speed acceptable.

The room was comfortable, but daytime construction was noisy. The workers barely spoke English and seemed to be trying their best to help. Still, they couldn't help us rent bicycles or suggest places to go. We ended up walking around until an older local man told us to get in his car and drove us somewhere we could rent a motorcycle.

The gardens are very well manicured, and the rooftop swimming pool has splendid views. Breakfast was boring, though. Service was excellent. Room service would meet every demand, the best service I've had in the Myanmar hotel industry.
