The staff were helpful and friendly when we asked about tours around Monywa. It's a good value for what is basically a three-star hotel, and one of the better options in town. The WiFi slowed down now and then. Breakfast is geared toward Asian tastes, with lots of rice and noodles rather than Western-style options. Restaurants are a few hundred meters away, so ask the staff for directions.

The back stairway corridor is a nice spot to watch the sunrise. During my December 2018 stay, the hotel offered a daily 5,000 kyat promotion coupon and paid for a tuk-tuk from the bus station. It's a small hotel, and the room was old-fashioned and tiny, though clean. Staff are friendly and efficient, and they reply to emails promptly.

The friendly staff gave us useful information and packed breakfasts for our early morning trips. The room didn't have a kettle, and you have to request hot water, though I hope that changes soon. A great hotel in Monywa.

The manager's kindness really stood out. When one of us came down with a high fever, he drove us to the hospital for a blood test, translated for us, collected the results, and brought them to our room along with painkillers and vitamins. It was incredible hospitality. The staff were very friendly and tried to help with everything, and some spoke good English. The hotel provides a free Monywa map. It's well located, about a 10-minute walk from the night market and under 2 km from the bus station. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Breakfast had both Asian and Western options, so there was something for every nationality. We stayed in January 2017 and highly recommend it.

One of the highlights of our Myanmar trip was spending time with Bob. He's a wonderful manager and host: he invited us to join his English class and took time to show us a nearby village and the giant standing Buddha. We had an amazing stay at the King and Queen Hotel, and the rooms were very clean and spacious.
