Mrauk U Hotel

The mosquito nets should be replaced wherever they're damaged, and private rooms should have a telephone. It would also help to add roofing between the guest rooms and dining room so guests don't get rained on. Most guest houses seem to provide shampoo, and indoor locks and extra tools should always be available. These are just positive suggestions for the future.

The staff are helpful, and the location is decent. Breakfast, hot water, towels, and drinking water are included, and it's hard to find anything cheaper in Mrauk U. The rooms are very dated and a bit dirty, with dim lights and terrible Wi-Fi. Bugs are common all over Mrauk U, and there were plenty here too. Construction is still going on, and it seems workers are staying in some of the existing rooms, so expect daytime noise and loud music at night. I recommend checking out Prince Hotel.

I enjoyed the Rakhine mote te here, and they have a good selection of tasty Rakhine dishes. The staff were polite and quick to respond, and I loved staying here. It's quiet despite being right in the center of town, across from the glorious Shite-thaung(80,000 Buddha images) temple. A deluxe room costs 50k Kyats, which seems a little high for local visitors. Breakfast is free, and sometimes they serve it buffet-style. I'd recommend the hotel.

The hotel used to be government-owned and is now run under a private contract. The rooms are spacious and the service has improved. There's a hill behind the hotel that's a nice spot for watching the sunset.
