The red carpet welcome was a nice surprise. We happened to arrive during an ASEAN conference at the hotel, so the usually quiet, enormous place was lively. Staff were polite and spoke good English. The hotel is pretty good, though a little pretentious, and some rooms don't have a decent view.

The main drawback is getting around. There isn't public transport, and private cars are very expensive. I paid 20 USD each way between the hotel and Nay Pyi Taw International Airport. Still, the hotel feels royal, with very spacious rooms, good internet, good food, and good staff. Highly recommended.

The staff were very good, and the rooms were huge, clean, and beautiful. Breakfast wasn't tasty, though, and I couldn't pay with my credit card. I also wish the pool stayed open at night.

A good venue for a dedicated meeting, though transport options are quite limited. This was my first trip to Myanmar. One tip: spend your Kyat or exchange whatever you have left before leaving the country.

Nay Pyi Taw feels like a lost ghost city, with enormous hotel complexes and incredible highways between places. Is this really Myanmar? Maybe it works for business or official visits, but travellers might want to keep going. The atmosphere isn't like other birmanes cities, though perhaps that could become an attraction someday.
