Amazing Ngapali Resort

The two-story beachfront suite was showing its age. Floorboards squeaked loudly whenever someone walked around, which made it hard for the other person to sleep. In heavy rain, the building seals leaked, and filling the jacuzzi took a painfully slow two hours. The room phones didn't say which numbers to call for different services. Staff interactions were disappointing: reception was rude on the phone, and someone from in-room dining said they hoped it wouldn't be that room again when we ordered. Breakfast was included and had some variety, but was still a letdown. The in-room dining tasted okay, though the prices felt high for what it was. We stayed two nights. With other options available, I wouldn't recommend this hotel, and I definitely wouldn't return.

The beach here is wonderfully quiet, set away from the other resorts, and the property itself is kept pristine with people constantly working around it. It has a strong honeymoon feel, so it may not suit solo travelers unless you're very comfortable on your own. The staff seemed unsure how to interact with me traveling alone, but they were kind. Service was amazing, including lovely turndown service. My room had a great view, although the tub and shower in the old wing felt a little dated. Wifi worked across a wide area with hardly any problems, which is unusual for many places in Myanmar. Breakfast was superb and happy hour was great. I just wish drinks could be ordered by the beach, with tables beside the loungers. I would've spent plenty.

The friendly service, tidy rooms and bathrooms, and excellent breakfast made for a very complete stay. The in-house restaurant serves local dishes as well as Western food, with a classic dining feel, and the offseason price is especially good value. The pool is small. The hotel is near the beach, though the beach itself had lots of plastic and cans and wasn't clean. They run a morning trip to nearby sights, including a pagoda, wet market, and fishing village. Highly recommend that tour.

We spent 10 days here and really loved our holiday. The room had a lovely sea view, and between the clear water, palm trees, waves, and amazing garden, it felt like paradise. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and always smiling. Lu Aye at the bar made the best Cocktails from Ngapali Beach. Choo Me and Sithu made us feel so welcome, and I got the best fresh ginger tea with honey from them. Sorry we didn't get to say goodbye properly! Breakfast was perfect, with omelettes, pancakes, waffles, and more. Dinner was special too, beautifully presented like artwork, very tasty, and great value. We could really relax here.
