Thazin Garden Hotel

The staff were amazing and arranged local tours for us on two consecutive days. We could adjust the itinerary, and the price was fair. They also picked my friend and me up from the old Bagan bus station exactly at 6:30am, as I’d requested by email the day before. Mr. Thun was right on time, and check-in went smoothly. Our room was exactly what I’d asked for: clean, comfortable, rustic, and majestic. I’m planning to make a vlog about the hotel because they were really great to us. Breakfast runs from 6 to 9am, with a different set of dishes each day. The coconut chicken noodle is a must-try. The pool is clean, and the hotel has a small temple on its grounds, so there are rules about swimwear near it: don’t lie down in a swimsuit in front of the Pagoda, and don’t point your feet toward it. The staff may have a little trouble expressing themselves in another language, but their hospitality, helpfulness, and efficiency earned my trust. Stellar staff! I can’t imagine my Bagan stay without Thazin Hotel.

The pool was lovely for cooling off in the heat of the day, and the hotel and staff were fantastic. A few other guests were very loud at times, which spoiled things a bit. Breakfast was a letdown, so four stars from me.

Great pool, friendly staff, and spacious rooms. It’s also perfectly placed for exploring Bagan. The one downside is there are no in-room safes.

The staff were very nice, but the rooms felt quite dark, a bit dirty, and poorly maintained. Breakfast was a little disappointing, and just so you know, the pool isn’t heated. We also had some very noisy, inconsiderate groups during our stay.
