There may be a lake view and a somewhat scenic compound, but I can't recommend this hotel. Mosquitoes were everywhere, not just in my room, and the rooms were so dark that even looking in the mirror was uncomfortable. Staff put up mosquito nets every night, which helped a little, but they looked unclean, with visible stains from swatted mosquitoes, and smelled unpleasant. My first room had an air conditioner that didn't work at all. Staff kept coming in to check it and adjust the settings, as if I'd done something wrong. They tried several times, even opening the ventilation and brushing away dust, though it was clear the unit wasn't going to work. It took hours and quite a lot of pushing before they finally moved me to another room. After a full day of travel and work, I couldn't get proper rest until late at night. The rooms are poorly maintained.

The prices and service are reasonable. The rooms follow traditional Myanmar architecture, and it’s relaxing to take in the lake and Shwe Sandaw Pagoda views.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was big and spacious. We checked in late for one night and ordered a mixed rice and vegetable dish for 20,000/-, which felt a little expensive. The hotel uses a lot of wood in its design while promoting sustainability and green standards. The building seems old, with heavy doors that are hard to lock. WiFi comes through separate devices, and we had to move them around because the socket wasn't working properly.

The lake views, including the pagoda, were spectacular, and I left feeling refreshed after a full day touring the city. The large grounds also gave me space to exercise. Staff were nice, even wrapping my food in plastic to keep dust off because they have a long way to walk through the huge hotel. The place is old, so some doors don't feel very secure.

KMA Kaytumadi Hotel offers a peaceful break, with comfort and sophistication alongside cultural charm. It's centrally located, and the rooms are well appointed. The amenities are excellent, and the service feels personal. Modern elegance runs through the hotel.
