Airport Inn

The restaurant food was tasty and came in large portions. Rooms are somewhat small, but they work well for air travellers with early or late domestic or international flights, especially with the current curfew times.

At $35, it’s worth staying overnight, and I found it among the nearest budget hotels to Yangon International Airport. The room was small but fine for what you pay. I tried room service from The Cafe at the rooftop and ordered a beef burger, but the patty was like a deep-fried nugget. I only took a couple of sips of the Passion Shake and didn’t finish the meal. Still, it was a nice stay, and the hotel staff were accommodating and hospitable. Truly Asian.

The rooms were dirty, with cockroaches, and the blankets looked dirty too. A standard room was 105k for a foreigner but 60k for a local, so the foreigner price was twice as much. At least there was hot water for a shower and electricity.

The staff were really nice and the location very convenient. Our room was quite big and fairly clean compared with other places available through Myanmar, and the breakfast arrived on time. When we asked for a taxi, it was waiting for us. It was hard to find the place, so posting a phone number somewhere would help. The Wi-Fi was basically nonexistent. Booking online makes it cheap and easy, though. Not bad, 2.5.
