空间精品青年旅舍(Space Boutique Hostel)

I've stayed here twice, once in a dorm and more recently in a private room, and was very pleased both times. It's a great hostel in the heart of Yangon, with modern, spacious dorms and a super friendly, helpful staff. The entrance is a little hidden, so you may need to ask the businesses on the ground floor where the staircase is. It's several flights up.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and there's free coffee from a machine around the clock. The hostel is clean, with air-conditioned rooms and plenty of shared showers and toilets. The lounge is small, with only a few seats, and breakfast is very basic. Most, maybe all, rooms don't get natural light.

It's close to the usually expensive centre, so the price feels fair as long as you don't expect too much. Finding the tiny entrance is a challenge, and then it's three floors of stairs. Have one person go up first to get help with the luggage. Drinking water is available 24/7, but now and then you need to remind the staff to refill it. The manager and one of the front desk guys are very helpful and speak reliable English.

It's hard to spot the entrance from street level, so GPS is useful for getting nearby. Look for the overhead sign, then the staircase. The place is clean and well maintained, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I couldn't figure out the public bus to Aungmingalar Bus Station, but the staff flagged down a taxi for me and spoke to the driver.
