Hotel Sanchaung

We could sleep fine despite the hotel being on a main road, with no noise from outside. The bed was comfortable, and the room had a smart TV, but the rest wasn’t good. Paint was peeling off the walls, exposing bare cement, including in the toilet. The body soap hadn’t been refilled, the night lamp didn’t work, and some of the towels seemed old. The room needs renovating. I wouldn’t recommend staying unless you can accept these conditions, and I hope they fix the issues.

A front desk employee eventually changed my sheets himself after housekeeping had gone home, and he was really nice and helpful. The rest of the staff were nice too. The first day’s staff and cleaning service, though, weren’t great. I checked in late on the 16th of last month and found dirty sheets. I called the front desk and said they could change them the next day since it was late. The room also wasn’t very clean, with long hairs in the corners. There was no hair dryer or kettle. I’d brought my own hair dryer, and they delivered a kettle when I called. Before I went out the next day, I reminded the front desk in person to change the sheets. They said okay, but nothing had been done when I got back at night. I called again, and that’s when the different front desk guy came up to change them himself. Breakfast runs until 10:00, but most of the food was gone by 9:30. The door chain didn’t work either. Aside from that, everything was okay.

I got food poisoning somewhere else and spent many days resting at the hotel. It was comfortable, and the location was convenient. The service was great and the food was good. I could also work out in the gym downstairs and swim in the pool on the top floor. I recommend staying here.
