Galaxy Hotel

We came back to Galaxy for a second stay because the location works for us, but there are other hotels nearby and we'll try one next time. I hope I don't have to stay here again. We're here for 2 weeks, and value for money is poor. The rooms are expensive, supplies aren't restocked well, and the window wasn't clean. Breakfast is good enough but nothing special. The staff were lovely, friendly, and helpful, though I feel management isn't honest and staff have to follow its rules. They were polite and willing, but seemed unhappy. The wifi is terrible. In the evenings I often can't load even a web page, a sentence in Google translate, or a picture in a news article. I can't work or study. Our local Sim signal is weak too, so that doesn't help. We only need web pages, zoom Mtgs, and education apps, not loads of data. When I spoke with the manager, he made heaps of excuses, saying the wifi situation was hard for them too and talking about the situation in their country. I don't believe he was being honest. How can they run a business if they can't load a page each evening? It might be Burma, but that seems too much to believe. The complimentary laundry was the one plus, and it was good. I later found out that was a special deal for us, not normally free. It should be complementary too, since we're paying a lot and not getting much value. The hotel prefers payment in USD over local money, kyat, and sets an exchange rate heavily in its favour. When the kyat is down, the USD price should be cheaper, but they never adjust it. More dishonesty.
