The gardens and lotus ponds make it easy to forget the city outside, and the staff add to that calm with their warm, attentive service. Meals on the verandas are lovely, especially breakfast, which has Burmese dishes like mohinga alongside international choices. The restored 1920s teak mansion has plenty of history, but the rooms also feel comfortable, with teak, silk, fruit baskets, and local sweets. Tucked into the quiet Embassy Quarter, it’s one of Yangon’s finest hotels.

The peaceful setting in Yangon’s diplomatic quarter was a real treat, and the surroundings are beautiful. I had an amazing stay with my son Charlie and family. The rooms were very comfortable, and the staff were fantastic. We’d happily come back when we’re in Yangon.

We spent six nights here and loved having breakfast and other meals on the restaurant veranda. The grounds, rooms, and facilities are all kept in very good shape, and the building itself is beautiful. It’s peaceful, but also well placed for sightseeing. The staff were among the best we’ve experienced, going out of their way to make us comfortable. I’d recommend it to anyone passing through who wants a little time away from the rush.

A good spot to take your time over a meal and conversation. The place always feels peaceful and elegant, and I’d come back. We had coffee, pasta, mushroom pastry, and lime soda; the flavors were mild but nicely done, and the portions filled us up. At lunch and dinner on weekdays, set menus are available if you’d rather not choose from the à la carte menu, where you order each item yourself.
