It looks as though the place has been shut for years. Very closed.

From nearby, you get a good view of the shining Shwedagon temple, and the location itself is nice. The facilities feel quite old, though. I was disappointed to pay 40$ a night and find the toilet poorly cleaned, with a urine smell. Kitchen hygiene also seemed questionable: there were ants on the drink table, and the water jar looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages.

There are 36 rooms in the building at Halpin hotel, a 2-star place in Yangon. People Park and National Muesem are both within walking distance.

The staff were the best part, really friendly. I needed something printed for my visa, and they put in a lot of effort to help. It's a pretty nice place.
