Hotel Bahosi

The location works well, close to Anawrahta Road and all the activity there. I had a great experience with the service too. Manager Simon and receptionist Nana were very helpful, as were the night shift staff, though I didn't catch that person's name. Housekeeping kept the room clean, and breakfast was delicious. The breakfast staff greeted everyone with a smile each morning. I'd definitely recommend staying here to tourists.

I was nervous about going out into the city, but the Bahosi staff helped me feel confident enough to explore for a few hours each day. When I needed a SIM card, one of them took me to a nearby shop, stayed with me, and even negotiated a discount to make up for my trouble with customs and the language. They welcomed me kindly, despite my being old, white, and ugly, and didn't laugh at my looks. It's a peaceful, cozy, comfortable place, and the staff are genuinely helpful.

I was in town for a wedding, and the staff did their best to make the stay comfortable. They were friendly and really helpful. The room was clean and economical, and having a Grab n Go next door for SIM cards or a late-night snack was handy. I had a great experience.

Parking right outside reception on the same level was probably the easiest part for me. There's a small supermarket just outside, and Chinatown isn't far, though I wasn't sure about going there alone in my wheelchair, so I took a reasonably priced Grab taxi. I was looking for an affordable wheelchair-friendly hotel in Yangon, which isn't easy to find. Since I know someone in Burma, I asked them to call and confirm accessibility. The manager kindly emailed to assure me they would take care of me. They put me in a small single room on the first floor. There was a bit of a hassle because the hotel was full on the first day of the year, so I'm sure they would have upgraded me otherwise. Steps lead downstairs just outside the room, and turning my wheelchair around in that tight spot was a little challenging. The staff were very helpful, though. One call and someone would come right away to help me get in or out. Breakfast is on the 7th Floor, which is wheelchair accessible. It wasn't lavish, but for a budget hotel it was good: either rice or noodle soup, scrambled eggs, toast, some fresh fruit, and juice.
