Hotel Parami

Dinner at the rooftop Piano Bar was a highlight. The view was fantastic, and the poolside glass bridge, lit with green neon, lets you see through the pool as you walk across. The rooftop had a great feel, and the prices seemed reasonable for the experience. Earlier, we ordered lunch from Hotel Parami’s restaurant to our room. It arrived in about 30 minutes and tasted delicious, though it was a bit pricey. The hotel was clean and pleasant over the weekend. Our room had a fresh bathroom with a wide, spotless bathtub, the card access was convenient and secure, and the elevator ran smoothly.

I didn’t like how the receptionist treated me when I arrived in my pajamas. It was already 11 p.m., so were they expecting me to dress up? And checking in took far too long.

This is a late review from my stay before lockdown, in 2018-19. I was there for almost a year, and the cleaning was consistently neat and good. The kitchen staff were especially good at serving the dishes I wanted. I really liked staying here, and if I visit yangon again, I’d choose this hotel.

Dinner was good, but the restaurant had no atmosphere at all, and the exhaust fans were so loud they drowned everything out. The hotel is a little far from downtown, though a taxi gets you to the airport fairly quickly. Staff were courteous, breakfast was excellent with Asian and Western choices, and I slept well in a quiet room. It was clean, with a firm bed, but the rooms seem due for refurbishment despite showing no major wear. The spa was very good, though perhaps overpriced. The gym is small and its equipment needs replacing.
