The staff were a real bright spot. They were friendly, kept opening doors and tidying up, and went out of their way to help arrange a flight and transport for my friends. The bed was great, the WiFi strong, and the pool is deep, with a jacuzzi they’ll switch on if you ask. It's right by the airport and mostly quiet apart from the odd plane overhead. There's also a pretty good Korean place down the road. And the breakfast was great. I came here for some comfort and rest when I wasn't feeling well, and it mostly gave me what I needed. For Myanmar, I felt I got what I paid for. Still, it's expensive, more than it ought to be, though everything in Myanmar seems overpriced. Food and drinks here cost a lot, and unless you're an executive, diplomat, or something like that, you probably won't want to eat or drink at the hotel. That's also a common issue when traveling in the country's cities. The other catch is how far it is from town. The map might say 38 minutes to 19th Street, but outside nighttime traffic the drive can get held up and take closer to an hour or more.

I've stayed here several times while working in Yangon, and the staff have always been friendly and helpful. The front desk arranged cars and explained to drivers where I needed to go. Kitchen staff were happy to make substitutions from the regular menu, and the hospitality team were always smiling. I look forward to returning when Burma allows visitors.

I've stayed at Plam Spring about twice since it reopened. The rooms and service are very nice, and the price is affordable. It feels like you can be close to nature without leaving yangon, a real oasis in the city.

The internet got noticeably better in my final week, after the hotel changed ISPs. I went from being unable to connect to watching my favorite amazon streams, which matters a lot to me. I'm adding a star because management responded positively to my mostly negative review. They're very responsive, seem aware of the problems, and appear to be working on improvements. They also seem willing to do what it takes to make customers happy. The staff are some of the best, and if they sort out the internet and plumbing, this could be a fair to good deal, maybe worth another star. The staff are top notch, but the place charges premium prices, especially for the area, while the amenities are below standard. Electrical, plumbing, and WiFi/internet problems really bring the rating down. Food is hit or miss and wildly overpriced for this area. The western dishes like pizza aren't good, while the more asian options range from good to fair. I know the country is only just joining the rest of the world and needs time to grow, but that doesn't excuse high prices for services that are below standard.
