It’s a quiet, neat and clean place for a business stay, even though it’s right beside the main road. The staff are strict, not very friendly, and didn’t seem well trained. Breakfast was limited to just two options, there’s no lift, and the price feels a little high for what you get.

Sunflower (Nay Kyar) Hotel is at the junction of Shwebonethar (Magol) Street and Anawrahtar Street, right in downtown Yangon. Getting around is easy, with transport readily available. It’s a cozy, affordable place with plenty going on, though it isn’t a high-end hotel. Sule Pagoda, Shwedagon Pagoda, Botahtaung Pagoda and the cathedrals aren’t far away. Bogyoke Market, night markets, cinemas and shopping centers are also nearby.

For $30, two people get a very basic room with no windows and a shared bathroom. It’s expensive for what it is, especially since better options are available at that price.
