The family running it are lovely and even include breakfast. For roughly 7-8€ a night, it feels like a real bargain. The guesthouse is cozy, clean, and comfortable, with three clean toilets and three showers. The beds are comfy and have curtains, and quiet hours make it easier to sleep. Its location is ideal for reaching major spots, with bus stops all around, including service to and from the airport. I’ve tried a lot of guesthouses around UB, and this is the one I’d recommend as the best.

Davka made my seven days here feel especially welcoming and comfortable, and I’d happily recommend the place to anyone visiting Ulaanbaatar. I stayed for a week, right by Chinggis Khaan Square, with outdoor fitness equipment nearby. The room was spotless, breakfast was delicious, and there was hot water around the clock. Wi-Fi was incredibly fast, and the lobby coffee was free each day.

The bathrooms were good, to be fair, but I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere quiet. The family who look after it live in one of the hostel rooms with their kids, which felt odd and uncomfortable. I once forgot to take off my shoes and one of the women running the place went off at me for ten minutes. I couldn’t help laughing. The breakfast was rancid.

I stayed three nights in a dorm in Oct 2025. The location is excellent, close to the city center, with a couple of GS25 and Nice2CU stores just a minute or two away. The house has been nicely renovated into a hostel with private rooms, and the rooms, beds, toilets, and showers all feel almost new. Wi-Fi was excellent, and there are two small common areas. Dorm beds have curtains, sockets, lights, and storage. You can use a microwave, refrigerator, and hot or cold water, with coffee and tea available too, though there’s no kitchen. The host was lovely and friendly, and also arranges tours for groups of different sizes and durations. A few things could be better. There are no bowls, plates, or cutlery, and I missed having a kitchen. Since the host family lives on the property, little kids are in the living area during the day. They’re adorable and social, but it can get noisy if you’re trying to work remotely there. The light by my dorm bed was broken, so it wasn’t much use at night, though it sort of did the job. There are no lockers, but the host said everything was on camera and not to worry. Tissues or paper towels in the common area would also have been nice. Still, it’s a great location, a beautifully renovated place, and lovely hosts. I’d stay again.
