The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable, and the food was really good. The staff were nice at first, and one man helped us switch from the king bed we were supposedly booked into to a twin room, which I had requested in advance for me, my partner, and our 7-year-old. But a sewage smell came from the toilet, and the whole floor smelled strongly of smoke. We’d planned to move into the city the next day, then realized this hotel wasn’t too far and the traffic wasn’t as bad as the internet had suggested, so we asked to add two nights. The male staff member said he couldn’t decide and told us to come back to the front desk after 14:00 to speak with someone else. That staff member was bossy and unfriendly. The price was 50% higher, and she asked me to pay by card without telling me the amount. When I asked what it was and why it had gone up so much, she got angry and said it was because there were three of us though we’d booked for two, and because we’d asked for a twin room instead of a king. She made it sound like we’d deliberately booked for fewer people to get a lower rate. Agoda defaults back to two people when you move between pages, even if you selected a child. Sometimes it shows two when I travel alone, too. Your page says kids up to 7 stay free, so what difference does it make whether it’s two adults or an adult and a child? I’m uploading my reservation, where I selected twin beds. The claim that I picked a king room isn’t true. This taught me to take a screenshot after booking. Agoda also looks different on a PC and a phone, and I couldn’t find the page while we were discussing it. The stay would have been okay without this incident, and it wasn’t just the extra 50% that bothered us. If you need to charge more, explain it kindly instead of criticizing the customer. Guests aren’t hotel professionals and can make mistakes. The funny thing is, the mistake was yours this time. It’s not a bad hotel, but I definitely won’t return or recommend it.

Getting from the locker room to the pool means walking through the gym, which isn’t very convenient. The whole swimming area felt odd, as someone had mentioned in another comment. It’s dim everywhere, the jacuzzi didn’t work, and the sauna is decrepit. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re planning to work out there.

The location is very good and the room was large, but housekeeping seemed better at forgetting replacements and repairs than at cleaning. I stayed for a month and never saw a manager anywhere in the hotel. The staff were generally quiet and rarely greeted guests, with no personal interaction at all. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, and I’m not coming back.

The final room wasn’t especially clean, but at least its door and lights worked. The first room we were offered had a door that wouldn’t close or lock and lights that didn’t work, despite the building supposedly not being old. The young man who showed us the room spoke no English and might have left us there if the French chef hadn’t happened by and arranged a change. The hotel is tucked away from easy access to the city center. It’s okay on a budget, but for a little more there are much better options right in the center.
