Palazzo Versace Macau

A real luxury treat for myself in December 2024, and I received lots of gifts from Palazzo Versace Hotel during the stay. Housekeeping deserves praise. Before the booking was finalized, though, dealing with reservations was complicated. There was also a mistake at reception that meant I had to return from Macau peninsula to the hotel to get my change, because I’d been asked to pay when I shouldn’t have. Offering me water didn’t make up for the trouble. Still, I think they can do better in the future.

Grand Lisboa Palace houses the hotel, and the lobby is grand and nicely decorated, with more staff than guests around. Staff responded right away and provided a high level of service. The room fell a little short after my stay at the other hotel, Karl. There was too much orange for my taste, including the bedsheet cover and basin, and it didn’t feel like a restful color choice. The basin area was somewhat small, although there was an extra dressing area, something I rarely find in other hotels I’ve stayed at. The minibar drinks were the same as at Karl, but there was no bath salt for a comfortable soak. Karl had a large container for guests to use. The hotel was great overall, and I’d like to stay again. A $1,500 deposit was required. Paying cash may be best so they can refund it when you check out.

La Scala del Palazzo serves international and Italian food at Shop G13, Ground floor, Palazzo Versace Macau (Hotel Entrance). The food was good and the service nice, though there weren’t many dishes to choose from. I noticed most people were ordering an afternoon tea set, which looked nice and pretty.

Oriental touches sit alongside careful Italian craftsmanship.
