New Orient Landmark Hotel

We requested a non-smoking room, but both the corridor and our room smelled of smoke. We slept badly and got sore throats. The replacement room on the second day smelled fine, but there was yellow urine on the toilet seat. There wasn’t a bathroom charger for the hairdryer, either. Overall, the air quality and room hygiene were poor.

The room I booked was massive, and I loved the bathtub. I also enjoyed the sauna, spa, jacuzzi, and swimming pool, and the staff were very friendly. We stayed in August and I was really happy with the room. I had yummy dim sum breakfast at the hotel, although it wasn’t included in the booking. The disappointing part was that the airport transfer was no longer available. I was told the hotel’s owner had changed and they hadn’t reached an agreement with bus operators for the service. The hotel really needs to update its website so more customers aren’t disappointed.

I haven’t stayed at the hotel, but the restaurant served good quality food, though it wasn’t the best or especially high-end. The waitress was nice.

The room was smelly, and I found a black spot on the bedsheet that looked like mold. The bed and pillows were extremely soft, and my wife and I ended up with back pain. For a five-star hotel with five-star prices, this was no-star service and staff quality. Not worth the rating. A very bad experience. We booked two rooms for our family and arrived at about 2:30pm. One room wasn’t ready, and staff said it would be ready by 3:30pm, so I asked my mother, who’s about 60, to wait in the gym room. In the end, the room wasn’t ready until about 4:15pm. At lunch in the restaurant on the 1/F, a waitress named IVY ate melon seeds in front of us and made disgusting eating noises. This is a five-star hotel, so that wasn’t acceptable. We also asked the front door staff to help us get a taxi, since they’re really hard to find in Macau. I don’t remember the man’s name, but he looked like a guard. He was impolite and impatient, and seemed to want us gone as soon as possible.
