Pousada Marina Infante

The room was near Galaxy Macau and Broadway Theatre at Broadway Macau. I booked a standard non-smoking twin and got the room I asked for. From the outside the building looks old and a bit unsettling, but the one-night stay was pretty good overall. A few staff members weren't friendly to foreigners.

I spent three weeks here in COVID quarantine. The meals included with the stay were too small, and I couldn't use delivery apps because registering an account required a local SIM card. I explained that to the staff, but they didn't offer any help.

The taxi situation in the rain was especially upsetting. When we asked the front desk to call one, they said there might not be any available because of the weather. We spent about 10 or 20 minutes trying to catch a cab in the rain, even as taxis arrived at the hotel. A passenger told us a staff member at the front had called their taxi for them. It felt unfair that Cantonese speakers could get that help while we, as foreign travelers, couldn't. Our non-smoking room was filled with so much smoke that I nearly choked. When I asked to move, they brought a refresh spray, which made the smell worse. The room was also very humid, and the bed had a mattress like something from a very cheap youth hostel. There was a pool I wanted to use, but no staff member, welcoming person, or lifeguard was there. The space was so dark and scary that I didn't swim. A casino, or perhaps a former casino, was out of use. A huge fan was sucking air out of that area, making the lobby smell awful and creating unbelievable noise. After staying here in Macau during the rainy season, I can say this was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I hadn't checked the Google Maps reviews and regret it. Please believe the bad reviews and avoid this place.

The room smelled old and had cracks in the ceiling. The mattress and pillow were so uncomfortable I barely slept through the night. The towels were extremely old, no longer white but a brownish yellow. Opposite Galaxy casino is the only thing the location has going for it, with nothing else around to interest anyone. Seriously, this is the worst hotel I've stayed in, and staying here feels like risking your life.
