Karibea Sainte Luce Hotel

We were really disappointed and didn’t have a good time. The staff weren’t friendly, and the food was poor. On a Caribbean island, the only fruit we found was watermelon. There was just one swimming pool we could use. Avoid this place!

Getting around cost a lot during our two day stay: the one way cab from the airport was $80.00 US, and on the second day a round trip to the closest McDonald’s cost $100.00 US. We usually never eat at McDonald’s, but we were desperate, with no other places to eat nearby. That brought the cab fare to $260.00 for the stay. The food selection and quality were terrible, and the hotel feels isolated. The walk up to the rooms is very hilly, so guests with walking issues should be warned. I wouldn’t recommend it or come back.

The ocean view from our room was lovely, and the location is pretty. Reception staff were very good, but food and drinks weren’t available on New Year’s Eve unless you paid $170 euro per person, and everything else was closed. The breakfasts and dinners were low quality.

The pool is fairly large and has a nice ocean view, with the beach just 2 minutes away. The shower is basic but fine. I missed having a changing room after swimming, though that presumably isn’t an issue for hotel guests. Staff were friendly, and there’s a locked room for luggage. The lunch, part of the three course buffet with cocktail and wine, was quite bad, or at least not to my taste for the price. I’m only rating the €53 one day pass, which includes pool access and that lunch.
