Semiramis Hotel HMJ

The dinner and breakfast were both great, and everything from the rooms to the bathrooms was immaculate. The reception team and the guards at the entrance also stood out for their service. I was surprised to find such a high standard in Nouakchott after not staying in a hotel this good for a while. It really felt like a five-star place, better than many hotels in Europe. A must.

The restaurant was consistently good when I ate there, especially the "Filet Thiof Grillé" and the French breakfast. The free airport transfers are a real highlight, but book one ahead; my driver was friendly and helpful, so I also took a tour of the city with him. The hotel is modern, comfortable, and well located in Nouakchott, with internet that was fast and didn't drop except for a few minutes during a nighttime power cut. Check-in and check-out were easy. One catch: they only take cash. There's an ATM in the hotel, though it went out of service now and then.

The rooms were spacious, the beds were fantastic, and the Wi-Fi was fast throughout the hotel. The food was good, and the staff were so friendly. Muhammad, the owner, showed us wonderful hospitality, and it was clear he'd put his heart into building the place. Semiramis made my business trip really comfortable. A beautiful hotel, and I'd recommend it highly.

I've stayed here twice. The rooms are quiet, clean, and spacious, and breakfast is nice. The receptionist was very helpful when I booked rooms for my colleagues and me. Internet ran a little slow, though I guess that's pretty common in the region.
