The 3Cities Auberge

We’re back for another stay at ‘The 3Cities Auberge’ in Bormla, and Annett & Michael looked after us so well again. We love coming here 🫶. We travel to Malta six or seven times in some years, but usually don’t return to the same hotel or guest house more than twice. In the past 12 months, though, we’ve stayed at the Auberge four times. The service and the historic surroundings really set it apart 😊.

Annett & Michael made us feel welcome and were accommodating throughout. The room had plenty of space, was well equipped, and had an AC unit I’d love to have at home. Breakfast was included, along with complimentary drinks that were topped up each day. The area is peaceful, with good local spots within walking distance and an easy ferry ride to Valletta. There are so many thoughtful little extras, and it felt much better than staying in a big hotel. We’d happily return and recommend it to friends.

I didn’t want to leave our cosy room. It was lovely, spotless, and clearly arranged with care. The house itself is full of character, with beautiful decor and charming little details, and the hosts made it feel warm and welcoming from the start. We could unwind on either of the two terraces, and the homemade breakfasts were delicious. It’s also well placed for the Valletta ferry, a scenic promenade, and good local places. Of the seven hotels on our trip, this was easily my favourite.

The two roof terraces look out over the city and harbour, and the guest spaces and rooms have a lot of charm. We stayed as a couple in early November and found the traditional Maltese style lovely. Annette and Michael were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We’d gladly come back to the 3 cities auberge and recommend it.
