Urban Isle

Urban was a pleasant, relaxed place to stay for a few nights. It’s close to everything but in a quiet area, so getting around was easy without feeling rushed. My room was clean and comfortable. I’d definitely recommend it.

The staff were really attentive and helpful when I had accommodation issues, and they quickly arranged a move to another room. Sliema and the ferry to Valletta are very close, with lots of restaurants nearby. I had a great experience overall.

At first the room looked comfortable and nice, but we ran into a few problems. There was nowhere to hang clothes, like swimsuits, after showering, and the shower head didn’t work properly. The toilet also had no water for a whole day. We reported it at reception and by email, but got no reply or help. These issues should be dealt with to make the stay better.

Our room was small but clean, with a comfortable bed and an excellent shower. It was on the ground floor just past reception. The hotel is well located, and although no one was at reception when we arrived, the self check-in instructions were clear and easy to follow. Breakfast was the biggest letdown during our two-night stay. The breakfast area was right beside the bins, the staff seemed unhappy and unwelcoming, and the food wasn’t good. We skipped it on the second day and ate elsewhere. Service was disappointing in other ways too. On the first morning, I asked about scooter rental after seeing posters at reception. The receptionist didn’t know anything about it and told me to ask down the road. Just before checkout the next day, as I was heading to my room, the receptionist abruptly shouted, “You need to pay €2 for the city tax.” That wasn’t a great way to speak to a guest. The location and shower were good, but after the poor service and breakfast, I’d choose another hotel in the same price range and area next time.
