The reception being around the corner at The Strand wasn’t a problem by itself, but seeing the difference between the hotels made Urban’s rooms feel like an unkempt student dorm. The location is good, and the staff at reception were polite, professional, and clearly tried to help with a situation outside their control. The room problems were hard to overlook. The building had a very narrow staircase and an elevator that barely worked, and our rooms had mold and insects. After one night, we managed to move to The Strand, even though we were willing to pay extra. My friends were given another room at Urban, but the AC didn’t work in either of our rooms that night. At The Strand, cockroaches wandered around my room and some got into my luggage. Reception could only offer to spray the room. Then, at 8:30 on our last morning, hotel work started with drilling. We didn’t enjoy the stay. If you can overlook the insects and other room issues, the location may suit you.

The breakfast buffet had a better range than most others I’ve tried in Europe, and we really enjoyed staying here. It’s a simple hotel, the room looked just like the photos, and every staff member we met was kind.

The location was perfect, and the bedsheets and floor were clean. The room had everything needed for a comfortable stay and was very clean. Thanks to the ladies at the front desk, who were so polite 🩷

The location made it easy to explore, and I had a lovely two-night stay. I was welcomed warmly at breakfast by Sonja, and Sandra at the bar kindly gave me a takeaway cup so I could have my tea in the room afterward. My room was spotless whenever I came back, thanks to Bhakthi from housekeeping. Everyone was friendly from the start. Antonello at reception made a great first impression with attentive, professional service. Really good service all around. I’d happily return and recommend the place.

Breakfast had lots of variety and was delicious. We had a great stay with my mom, with a fantastic pool, nice rooms, and a great location. I’d choose this place again if I come back to Malta.
