Gest

Gest was a lovely place to stay, with a beautiful balcony view and clean rooms. We made good use of the kitchen and sitting areas. Restaurants and grocery shops are an easy walk away, although the area is very hilly. Roadworks in Mellieha meant some nearby bus stops were closed, but the Gest staff helped us figure out the temporary shuttle and taxis. It’s also well placed for trips to Comino Island and Popeye Village.

Kristina made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived, with her warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm. The shared kitchen was especially useful, stocked with appliances and utensils, plus fresh bread, pastries, tea, coffee, and spreads delivered daily. There’s a separate laundry room with a washer, dryer, iron, and ironing board, handy for a longer visit. Our clean, recently updated room had everything we needed, including reliable air conditioning and a balcony, and daily housekeeping kept it comfortable. The modern building has an elevator, and the code locks meant no keys or cards to carry around. Excellent value for money. I highly recommend staying here when visiting Malta.

A sandy beach is only a 10-minute walk away, though the return walk up the hill is a little steep. We slept really well in the quiet room, with its soft mattress and air conditioning. It had towels and everything we needed to cook, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There’s a luggage room where you can leave your bags after checkout, laundry on the lowest floor, and a lovely terrace upstairs. We’d happily stay here again. One of the best apartments in Malta!

Kristina is a real gem of this lovely B&B. She welcomed us with such energy and positivity, gave us the information we needed, and suggested what to see and where to focus. If I return to Malta, I’ll definitely stay here again. The value for money is hard to beat. Our room was freshly renovated and had everything for a comfortable stay, modern air conditioning, and a balcony with a magnificent cathedral view on one side and the sea on the other. It was cleaned daily. The building has an elevator, and the magnetic code locks on the doors are handy when you go out, since there’s no key or card to lose or demagnetize. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and utensils, and fresh bread and rolls arrived each morning, along with portioned jam, butter, tea, and coffee. There’s also a separate laundry and drying room with a washer, dryer, iron, and board.
