Bella Vista Hotel

Breakfast was the biggest disappointment. There was no fresh fruit, just one type of canned fruit on some days, and even the tea was premade in thermal flasks. No fresh bread either, and the breakfast hours were only 7 to 9 a.m. The gym required a €5 cash deposit and shut at 7 p.m. The low price showed in the quality. The hotel has indoor and outdoor pools, a gym, self-service laundry, and the option of including lunch and dinner, but it doesn't feel like a four-star place. If you want a comfortable, quiet night's sleep, I'd look elsewhere. The dated room and furniture were noisy late into the night, even in February, with no sound insulation. We could hear doors shutting and neighbours moving furniture. The bathtub had no movable shower head, and dirt showed easily on the white ceramic bedroom floor. The sheets looked clean but were old and stained. The sink tap dripped, and the nice balcony was too noisy to enjoy.

Dinner was delicious, but getting drinks was a slow process: the waiter had to take the order, accept payment, bring a receipt, and then deliver the drinks. Mine arrived after I'd finished the second course. Reception service was excellent, though some of the management's procedures made things difficult. There's a cash deposit for towels, and they wouldn't take a card, saying it was related to taxes. During shift changes around 18:30 or 19:00, we couldn't get certain services, such as pool access without our own towel or a second room card. Also, not every room is smoke-free, regardless of what the label says. Bring some cash. Fixing these procedures could make this a very nice hotel.

I've been coming to Bellavista for over 30 years, and much of it is still the same. Some staff are still here too. It's family-owned, and the owners are approachable; the owner is around each morning and evening and eats here. I've had some extremely cheap all-inclusive stays, under £20 a day. It's not really four-star, but I've never had a cleanliness problem, with staff cleaning all day. The food is good enough for what you pay. One of my older children didn't like it, and now one of my younger ones doesn't either, but I've never seen a cockroach. People expect Hilton quality at Travelodge prices. Thanks to everyone, from the owner to the cleaners. I hope to visit again.

Our family was left sitting in reception for three hours because we arrived a few hours before check-in and weren't let in. During meals, staff watched our plates, wouldn't let guests serve themselves, and made us ask them for food, which felt embarrassing. If we paused, they kept asking whether we were finished, so I felt pushed to eat quickly. When my mum asked what a dish was, a staff member replied, “Can't you read?” It was a very rude way to speak to her. The rooms felt old and uncomfortable. I also found the game room ridiculous: you pay for each game, but the paid games last only two minutes. Table tennis required a £5 fee for broken rackets that were barely usable. Some shop items were overpriced, though others were normal. The staff were rude and had a bad attitude. We also found cockroaches in the bed. A terrible, disrespectful, unwelcoming stay.
