Allegro Hotel

The staff were excellent, always friendly and ready to help. I appreciated having a gym, and the food was okay. Breakfast was fine, but nothing special. The rooms and furniture felt a bit dated, though everything was clean and worked as it should. I stayed in March 2023 and had a decent experience.

The staff were super friendly, did their best to explain things, and the air conditioning worked well. Breakfast was the same each day but good enough to get started. The pool on the roof wasn’t very warm, which was fair enough. Malta is compact, so location didn’t matter much to us. We did find two thumb-sized cockroaches in our room, and there was no warm water in the showers. One morning the fire alarm screamed for two hours after we woke up. There was no fire, just the alarm and no electricity. Also, as of November 2025, there’s a construction site right next to the hotel.

We are extremely dissatisfied with our four-day stay. The sheets were never changed, not even once. We were moved to another room because the air conditioning in the first one did not work, and its shower hose was broken too. Seven of us were trapped in the elevator for a very long time. Its stated limit was eight people, so this was not our fault. The technician should have come immediately to get us out, but that never happened. We had to call the police ourselves, though the hotel should have done so right away. One of the girls had a panic attack and was in a very bad state.

From the 10th June to the 20th, I had the best experience in Malta. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We got clean towels every day, and extra ones whenever we needed them, which was great after the beach or being out in the heat. Breakfast was a good light start to the day. I can’t believe this is only a 3-star hotel, it should be at least a 4.
