The room was clean, but it was poorly maintained: the shower wouldn’t stay in place, the soap dispensers came apart, and the shower door didn’t shut properly. The only bright spot was the café staff, who were friendly and genuinely tried to help. I stayed three nights and had repeated complete power failures in my room on days 2-4. Each time the room went dark, which felt unsafe. A café staff member was the only person available and came twice to reset the fuse box. They said it was a known technical issue affecting at least two rooms, but nobody offered another room or any other fix. At checkout, when I brought it up, the receptionist was openly patronising and dismissive. My partner thought they were clearly trying to provoke a reaction. Management’s follow-up emails were hostile and accusatory, and oddly focused on a Do Not Disturb sign, as if it somehow cancelled out the electrical faults. They blamed user error despite what the café staff had told us, and said I’d misunderstood English, my native language. 😅 Repeated safety problems alongside such rude, dismissive treatment made this a very unpleasant stay. Don’t gamble your holiday here, stay elsewhere. (See attached screenshot of the director’s email for context.)

The receptionist was very friendly, and the restaurant staff and food were excellent. Still, the service overall needs improvement, and I barely heard back after completing remote checkout. Cleaning was a letdown. Although we checked in around 6 p.m., the bathroom hadn’t been properly cleaned and the rooms didn’t feel clean either. My allergy got worse, and I even spotted bugs on the floor.

I felt welcome from the moment I arrived, thanks to the professional, friendly staff. The hotel was spotless and clearly well cared for, and everything felt clean, comfortable, and organized. A top-notch experience!

The rooms were perfectly fine, very clean and well equipped, the staff were friendly, and breakfast was good value. I paid for it for the week. I’d stayed here before without a problem and was looking forward to using it as a base while visiting family and taking a break. The noise was the deal breaker. The hotel is close to Malta’s clubbing hub, and a lot of the guests seemed to be 18 to 25. They’d come back from clubland from 4 a.m. onward, making a huge racket. Every arrival sounded like it was happening in my room, so I spent a week with broken sleep. That doesn’t fit the boutique hotel image they’re trying to create. To me it’s become a crash pad for partying kids. I won’t be back; I’d use the spa up in Naxxar instead. The air conditioning was also very noisy and made all sorts of strange sounds. It doesn’t seem to be plumbed in properly.

We left a night early and booked somewhere else after six nights were planned, because we weren’t sleeping well. In the room, we could hear every noise in the stairwell, along with what sounded like furniture being dragged around upstairs and in other rooms, both day and night. When it wasn’t that, the interruptions came from the air conditioning or the main road. We needed the AC because it was unbearable without it, but about every half hour it made an irritating watery sucking sound that could wake us. There were some good points. The room was clean and well equipped, the receptionist at check-in was helpful, and the café downstairs or next door was fantastic. We got two pastries and two hot drinks for about €12, much cheaper than the hotel breakfast. WiFi worked without any trouble. The hotel is around a five-minute walk from a bus stop, with buses taking about 5 minutes to St Julian’s, 15 to Silema, and 30-60 to Valletta. When we told the receptionist we were leaving, she didn’t seem interested or apologetic, and didn’t offer to cover our mini bar bill. The mini bar also wasn’t restocked during the stay.
