Villa Sunnyside

The staff were welcoming and really helpful. We had a very enjoyable stay, and I’d highly recommend the villa to anyone looking to rent one.

When our group of 10 arrived, we were shocked by the condition of the "villa". We’d paid more than €5,000 for a dump. The outdoor pool was dirty, with cloudy water and a grimy floor and walls, and the terrace floor was dirty too. The indoor pool smelled musty and its water was cloudy. The sun lounger cushions were filthy; they were replaced after we complained, but how could those have been put out for guests? Railings on the stairs were unstable and dangerous. The curtains had holes and dirt, the furniture was dirty, the sofa cover was torn, and the fly screens were full of holes. Half the light switches didn’t work, there was mold in the showers, and the basement smelled musty and needed renovation. Its bedroom looked like a prison, so four of us had to share one room. Wardrobes were close to falling apart and doorknobs were nearly coming off. Wi-Fi and air conditioning cost extra. The Booking photos must be at least 10 years old, since they don’t show how neglected and run-down the spacious house is now. The landlady was unaccommodating and brushed off our problems, saying things like, "It's normal, things are just different in Malta," and refused to reduce the price. After a lot of discussion, we got free Wi-Fi, but it was terrible and didn’t work upstairs. We advise everyone against booking this house. It was a nightmare instead of a vacation.
