The thoughtful details in our room made our anniversary feel even more special. They'd arranged hearts beautifully and left a bottle of bubbly. The team were responsive to our messages and always greeted us with a warm smile, so we felt very welcome. Manoel Hotel is right in the heart of Valletta, making it easy to explore all the sights. The rooftop is gorgeous, and having continental breakfast there with a view of the dome of the Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was a real treat. We had a wonderful stay.

The breakfast that came with our stay was at a cafe/bar a few hundred meters away, with plenty of options. The receptionist greeted us warmly and gave us recommendations when we arrived. Our room was clean and spacious, with a small balcony overlooking the street, and the location couldn't be better. The one thing I'd echo from other reviews is that the windows aren't completely soundproof. You may hear the occasional drunk singing at night. It was tolerable, and we still managed to sleep, but bring earplugs just in case.

The main drawback at the Manoel is the noise. Our fourth-floor room was below the rooftop bar/restaurant, and we heard tables and chairs being moved all night. One night there was also a DJ set. It was like staying underneath a club, though it did stop at 11.30pm. The narrow street outside is crowded with diners all night, too. If you want a peaceful stay in Valletta, consider a hotel just off the main centre. The location is ideal for exploring Valletta, and the rooms are comfortable, with a massive shower room.

The free breakfast is just a couple of streets away, and they can arrange airport taxis at a discounted rate. This is a wonderful hotel in the heart of Valletta, with friendly staff, spacious and clean rooms, and free air conditioning. The beds are very comfortable. I'll be back for a long weekend in December.

The rooftop was a nice touch, and the desk staff were helpful and pleasant. The hotel is very clean and well located, though the street can get noisy at night.
