The location was the only good part. We could admire the nice view only once we were outside the apartment, since the windows opened onto the street. The apartment was right on the street, so it was noisy. Inside, it was old and poorly cared for: lots of missing parts around the stairs, a bad old smell, dampness, rust and dirt on the sink, and a downstairs room that couldn’t be lived in. We even found a cockroach. The host wasn’t available; she just sent someone to open the room. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The studio was spacious, with an updated bathroom and plenty of towels, unlike many hotel accommodations. The Wi-Fi was great. Its location is excellent, a few steps from the sea and the Victoria Gate, and within walking distance of restaurants, entertainment, historic sights, shops, swimming coves and the ferries if you want a bit of exercise. Check-in was rough. I took a taxi to the address I’d been given, waited around for a response, and was eventually directed to my room about three blocks away. After a long flight, I’d hoped to avoid hauling my luggage that far. The air conditioning also wasn’t great, and sleeping in the stuffy ground-floor studio with too little breeze from the windows made for uncomfortable nights.

Some of the windows have no blinds, so keep that in mind if you want to sleep in. The check-in was the worst experience I’ve ever had at an apartment. They tried to give me a different room from the one I’d booked, and the guy checking me in exploded when I asked about it. He shouted, insulted me and cursed at me when I said he was being rude. I was so upset that I started crying and had a bit of a meltdown. Another employee was sent to deal with me and they moved me, but by then I felt so shaken and uncomfortable that I decided to leave altogether. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. No matter how cheap it is, it isn’t worth it. It’s just a no.

We spent one night in the apartment and would happily come back. It was clean, had a great view and new furniture, plus a fully equipped kitchen, hairdryer, ironing board and iron. Highly recommended! 👍👍👍
